Sometimes life is just hard. There are things that are simply overwhelming and you feel at a loss to know what to do. Sometimes just taking the next step takes all of the effort you can muster. Do you ever feel this way? I do. Actually, I feel this way often. I am a single mother who works fulltime and attends college fulltime. There are weeks I am up really late, get up early, and work on assignments during my lunchbreak in order to meet assignment deadlines. and sometimes it is honestly about all I can bear. I feel like life is passing me by in all of the busyness required to accomplish all that is set before me on a weekly basis.
When I begin feeling this way, I have some very close friends that I can turn to, even if it is just to let off steam or complain a little. Yes, we are allowed to complain when things are difficult in life. My point is, we NEVER have to face anything alone, as long as there is someone out there for us to reach out to in our time of need or even despair.
When I have moments like this, it always makes me think about someone else who may be experiencing some of the same feelings. and one thought leads to another, which always makes my mind turn back to the patients and caregivers (family and/or friends) at Hospice of Marshall County – Shepherd’s Cove. I wonder how overwhelmed they must feel at times. I wonder if taking the next step takes all of the effort they can muster. I wonder…
But then I take comfort in the fact that, just like me, our patients and their families have someone they can reach out to, someone who can help ease the burden — their care team here at Hospice of Marshall County – Shepherd’s Cove. Perhaps a caregiver is just overwhelmed, or the patient has a symptom that could be more easily managed in Shepherd’s Cove, our inpatient facility. We are here to help always, 24-hours per day, seven days a week. We are just a phone call away. So please do not face the storms alone. Let us help you find strength to make it through the day ahead or to just take the next step. We are here to serve you.
