Shepherd’s Cove Hospice partners with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s We Honor Veterans program. As a way of recognizing the sacrifice they and their families have made, we strive to make sure our nation’s veterans know they are appreciated.
Veterans served by Shepherd’s Cove Hospice are presented with a beautiful Certificate of Appreciation for their service to our county. In addition, they receive an American Flag lapel pin.
In addition, for those who end their life journey at Shepherd’s Cove, a Stars and Stripes Tribute is conducted.
Shepherd’s Cove Hospice has also launched the Veteran-to-Veteran program. This program enlists the help of former military servicemen and women to visit veterans who are under the care of Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. Many times, these visits include delivery of the certificate and pin recognizing that veteran’s military service, as well as a time of companionship.
Shepherd’s Cove Hospice needs more veteran volunteers willing to serve in the Veteran-to-Veteran program.
